A 23-year veteran of the oil and gas industry and entered the oil and gas industry from the ground up, starting within the service industry and worked his way up to supervising workovers and stimulations in all parts of Western Canada’s sedimentary basin. Currently, Mark is responsible for the supervision and coordinating of wellbore and pipeline abandonments, decommissioning of facilities batteries, and the disposition of oilfield equipment. With 20+ years of field and supervision experience, Mark is well positioned to co-ordinate our completions and abandonment projects for clients and field staff. Mark is also a strong understanding of the AER’s LLR/LMR and Inactive Well Compliance Program and advises our clients of their potential opportunities and responsibilities. He has managed many abandonment projects that included SCVF and remedial work, First Nations and Metis settlements negotiations and in the design and patenting of downhole abandonment technologies. Mark has been a key individual for WPM within the Site Rehabilitation Program (SRP), acting as the main contact within Alberta Energy’s Indigenous Round table, and as WPM’s senior field coordinator during the SRP program.
